37 Plays - Putting Access First
Norwich
Booking includes a free ticket to the audio described performance of The Nutcracker on Saturday 26th November at 2:30pm and the associated Insight Talk beforehand at 12:15pm.
Now is the time to tell your story.
Created in partnership with Norwich Theatre, there will be a series of script writing workshops from September to November that will see you create your own play. Delivered by a Royal Shakespeare Company actor and writer, and suited to those with visual impairments, we hope that these creative sessions will offer a safe space to connect with others through playwriting and storytelling, helping you to develop a script to be proud of.
The programme will explore embedding audio description within the body of a script, encouraging the notion that accessibility should be rooted within the theatre-making process from the very first steps.
The workshops will take place at the Vision Norfolk Bradbury Activity Centre, Beckham Place, Norwich, NR3 3DZ, on the following dates:
- September: 28th – 10-11am
- October: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th– 10-11am
- November: 2nd – 10am-11am
There is no need to have prior experience of scriptwriting – the workshops will guide you through the process, from finding inspiration to spark an initial idea, through to character development and more.
