People Living With Sight Loss In Great Yarmouth Invited To Find Out What Support Is Available Over A Cup Of Tea

Great Yarmouth’s St George’s Theatre Café has got together with sight loss charity Vision Norfolk to hold a special drop-in afternoon to enable people living with sight loss to find out what help and support is available to them.

Staff from the charity’s hub in the town will be on hand at the café on Monday 25th November from 1.30pm until 3.30pm to answer questions, signpost support services, and showcase the range of activities Vision Norfolk runs to help those living with sight loss lead independent lives.

The afternoon is part of the St George’s Café’s programme of inviting local organisations to showcase their services every Monday afternoon.  Vision Norfolk will attend the events on a monthly basis.

“Whether someone has just been diagnosed with a vision issue, or if they have been living with sight loss for some time, finding what help and support is available can be difficult,” said Ed Bates, Vision Norfolk’s Great Yarmouth hub co-ordinator.

“We would be delighted to sit down with anybody over a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake to have an informal discussion and point them in the right direction to find support.  We also welcome friends, families and carers of vision impaired people who may want to come and find out what services are available.”

Vision Norfolk is also seeking volunteers to help the charity deliver its services, and information will be available at the Café even for anyone who might be interested in getting involved.

The event takes place at the St George’s Theatre Stage Door Café on King Street on Monday 25th November from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
