Vision impaired people in west Norfolk are being offered free one-to-one technology training sessions to help them make the most of technology to help them live independently.
Norfolk sight loss charity Vision Norfolk has teamed up with the Royal National Institute of Blind People to offer the training sessions, on Thursday 15th February.
Mohammed Atif, who is technology for life co-ordinator at the RNIB, will be available for free 45 minute one-to-one problem solving sessions which can be used to tackle any issues which people are having with digital technology and devices, including mobile phones, laptops and smart speakers such as Alexa.
“Technology is transforming the way that vision impaired people can live independent lives,” said Penny Whitby, King’s Lynn hub co-ordinator for Vision Norfolk.
“But for those who didn’t grow up with digital technology, getting to grips with it – and really making the most of the opportunity technology offers – can be daunting. That is why we have got together with the RNIB to offer these personal one-to-one training sessions with one of the UK’s leading experts on technology for people living with sight loss.
The one-to-one 45 minute training sessions take place on Thursday 15th February from 11am to 4pm at Vision Norfolk’s King’s Lynn hub at unit 3, Dundee Court, Hamburg Way, King’s Lynn, PE30 2ND. Sessions are free, but must be booked in advance.
