Generous shoppers donate more than £500 to Norfolk’s sight loss charity

Generous shoppers at Taverham Nursery Centre donated more than £500 to Norfolk’s sight loss charity when it undertook its first post-lockdown collection at the weekend.

A total of £509.93 was collected by staff and volunteers from Vision Norfolk during the two-day collection – one of very few times in the past 12 months that the charity has been able to undertake an in-person collection.

“Like many charities, our ability to raise funds from the public has been severely restricted during the pandemic, so we are so grateful to Taverham Nursery Centre for allowing us to collect throughout the weekend – and to their very generous customers who helped us raise such a big sum,” said Vision Norfolk individual giving fundraiser Rob Collins.

“Along with most organisations in the charitable sector, our income has been seriously hit by our inability to undertake fundraising activities for much of the last year, just as demand for our services has peaked. We rely totally on the generosity of the people of Norfolk, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave so generously at the weekend.”
