Major Touring Exhibition To Showcase Latest Assistive Technologies For People In Norfolk Living With Sight Loss

A major exhibition highlighting the assistive technology, support and services available to people living with sight loss is set to tour Norfolk later this month.

VisionZone 2024 will enable vision impaired people in the county to try a range of technology for themselves, as well as find out about more about the activities and services provided by the county’s sight loss charity Vision Norfolk.

Three of the country’s leading suppliers of assistive technology, Optelec, Synapptic and Cobolt Systems will be demonstrating a huge range of technology designed to help vision impaired people live independent lives.

The events will be taking place at Vision Norfolk’s three community hubs in the county:

  • Monday 20th May, 10am-2pm at The Bradbury Activity Centre, Beckham Place, Edward Street, Norwich
  • Tuesday 21st May, 10am-2pm at Vision Norfolk’s Great Yarmouth Hub, 12 Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth
  • Wednesday 22nd May, 10am-2pm at the charity’s King’s Lynn Hub, Unit 3, Dundee Court, Hamburg Way, King’s Lyn

“These events are a great opportunity for people living with sight loss to bring themselves up to speed with the latest technology which has been developed to help them live independent lives, as well as find out more about the support and services that Vision Norfolk offers,” said Vision Norfolk chief executive Andrew Morter.

“The pace of technological advance in assistive technologies has been breathtaking in recent years, and there are a plethora of new gadgets, machines and technologies which can really change the lives of vision impaired people.

“We are delighted to be joined by three of the country’s top assistive technology companies, who will each be bringing experts who can demonstrate their products and help people understand how they can use them in their everyday lives.”

Entry to the events is free, and open both to vision impaired people and family and friends of those living with sight loss who want to find out more.  No advance booking is necessary, attendees can simply turn up at any time the exhibition is open.
